Joseph (“Pepe”) began shooting shotguns and small-bore rifles, as a pre-teen under his parents’ watchful eyes. Growing-up in Colorado included hunting, especially upland birds. Pepe’s first introduction to large-bore pistols was being humiliated by the 1911 in Army OCS; so he promptly purchased a Browning 9 mm and the story began. After returning from Viet Nam he continued practicing with the Hi-Power. Over the years defensive pistol shooting was a sometime-pastime, but in the early ‘90’s opportunity and interest coincided. Joseph has been a member of the IDPA and FRIDPA since 2001, and was certified as an SO by the IDPA in 2006. He can often be found at the Clear Creek matches working with new shooters. In real life Joseph is a management consultant.
